Fireproofing Testing (Fire Code Compliance for SFRM)

Sprayed Fire-Resistive Materials (SFRM) are a critical component in passive fire protection systems for structural steel. These materials insulate steel elements during a fire, slowing the temperature rise and preventing structural failure, thus allowing occupants more time to evacuate and helping preserve the structural integrity of the building.

AEIS provides comprehensive testing services for fireproofing materials to ensure compliance with code requirements and project specifications. Field sampling is conducted per an approved sampling scheme, and extracted material is analyzed in our accredited laboratory for thickness, density, and adhesion/cohesion bond strength test

Fireproofing inspections are often mandated by building departments, especially in commercial,  high-rise and infrastructure projects. As a New York City Department of Buildings–approved inspection agency, AEIS supports both private developers and public agencies to verify compliance to design requirements such as fire resistance ratings as mandated by code.
