Optical Emission Spectroscopy

Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) is a well trusted and widely used analytical technique used to determine the elemental composition of a broad range of metal alloys.

AEIS’ chemical analysis department is equipped with expert staff, extensive calibrated analytical instrumentation and certified reference materials.

This process is accomplished by using an electrical charge to vaporize an area of the sample and leaves a small burn mark on the material providing a rapid and accurate chemical composition of different metal alloys.

Today, AEIS have portable OES equipment which can be brought to a remote site to produce an elemental chemical analysis on in-situ large sections of samples or where it is not feasible to cut out a sample to send to the laboratory.
