Rebound Hammer Tests

The Rebound Hammer Test also known as the Schmidt Hammer Method is a non-destructive surface hardness test used to assess the uniformity and comparative strength of hardened concrete. It is a quick and portable method for identifying areas of potential weakness, guiding decisions on where to perform more detailed investigations like coring or ultrasonic testing.

AEIS performs Rebound Hammer Testing using calibrated equipment and certified technicians in accordance with ASTM standards. While the method does not provide precise compressive strength values, it is highly useful for detecting in-place variability, low-strength zones, or areas affected by surface deterioration.

This test is especially valuable during condition assessments, structural evaluations, and quality control on existing concrete structures where destructive testing is not feasible.
